Mike Frayne
Chief Executive Officer
As chief executive officer of VisionOSS, Mike Frayne is responsible for the company’s strategic direction, profitability, and aggressive growth plans. Mike brings to VisionOSS a background of managing high-growth companies and successfully taking them to IPO.
Before joining VisionOSS, Mike Frayne was co-founder and Executive Chairman of Intec Telecom Systems PLC. Prior to founding the Intec Group he worked as a consultant for a number of years, following IT management roles in the investment banking industry.
Mike holds an MBA from Wits Business School, Johannesburg, and a BSc in Information Technology and Psychology.
Mike was named Ernst & Young ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ in 2001. Mike’s business interests are truly global, ranging from companies in the USA, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Europe.
Adrian Andrews
Chief Financial Officer
Adrian Andrews is responsible for the company's financial accounting and reporting as well as the administration functions. Adrian brings over 20 years of experience in banking and the technology sector to VisionOSS, with experience in IPO, M&A and fund raising.
Adrian's background includes extensive experience in high-tech telecommunications start-ups that have grown to successful, mature companies. He has managed all support functions and built and run businesses.
Prior to joining VisionOSS, Adrian was CFO for Insure.com, Ulidian Networks and End-to-End Mobile. He was SVP Finance for Exodus Internet Ltd.
During his earlier banking career, Adrian worked for HSBC and BZW. Adrian has a BA and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Henry Barton
Strategy Director
Henry Barton is the Strategy Director for VisionOSS, is a co-founder of the company and is responsible for leading VisionOSS’ overall technical strategy direction and creating the market image we seek to attain.
Henry has over 10 years in the Telecommunication, Cable and OSS sector and was Director/CTO for companies such as JacobsRimell, Cable & Wireless Communications and Nynex Cablecomms.
Henry was Founder and CEO of Broadcentric, a specialist Digital Broadband 'convergent solutions' company. He spent 4 years at McKinsey & Co as a senior management consultant focusing on the telecoms sector.
Henry has an MBA from the London Business School and the Sloan School, MIT, with 1st Class BSc Honours in Engineering Science. He is a member of the IEE and is a Chartered Engineer.
Derek Lipscombe
Global Sales Director
Derek Lipscombe is the Global Sales Director of VisionOSS and is a co-founder of the company.
Derek has 18+ years experience in IT & T solutions sales, with a number of senior sales positions with Tandem
Computers, Vicorp, Olivetti & Intec Telecoms Systems. He was General Manager of EMEA, Intec, where he made a
significant contributed to a successful IPO in 2000. He was Head of Sales in EMEA for JacobsRimell - lead IP Telephony bus dev – responsible for Cisco relationship.
Derek co-founded CapeConnect Ltd - consulting business
specialising in the design and implementation of
wholesale and content settlement systems for telcos and he formed the EdgeAlliance EMEA based sales and bus dev
network in partnership with Dr. Stefan Peters.
Derek has a BSc in Mathematics from Heriot-Watt University.
Christopher May
SVP North America
Christopher May is the Senior VP of Operations for North America. He is responsible for the customer deployment and key customer relationships in North America. He also oversees the corporate marketing function for VisionOSS.
Christopher has 20 years experience with large, technology projects, including: DOCSIS broadband for Cable & Wireless Optus; Satellite broadband for UPC; Digital PayTV for TCI.
Christoper was a partner in Broadcentric, a specialist Digital Broadband 'convergent solutions' company.
Christopher has held senior commercial and technical/operational roles with Siemens, TCI and Schlumberger SA. He was VP of Asia Pac at JacobsRimell – involving market development in Japan, Korea, Australia.
Christopher has an MBA from Macquarie University, Australia and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Sydney.
Ian Middleton
SVP Solution Design and Product Management
Ian Middleton is a co-founder of the company and runs the IP Telephony Solution Consulting business for VisionOSS, as well as heading up product management..
Ian provides VisionOSS with IP communications leadership gained from a deep experience in communications design and management. Ian has over 20 years experience in the IT & T industry, with 15 years experience in the operation, design and architecture of large scale voice and data networks.
Ian was Principal Consultant with JacobsRimell Ltd. Prior to that he was an Independent consultant for global ATM, Frame Relay and IP networks.
Ian has during his career worked with British Telecom, Reuters and Credit Suisse First Boston.
Dr Stefan Peters
Commercial Director
Stefan Peters is the Commercial Director of VisionOSS, is a co-founder of the company and provides leadership in all commercial and legal matters. Stefan also leads the EMEA business development/sales team.
Stefan has 15 years experience in information technology, with 9 years in sales, bus dev and GM positions for software
companies serving the telecommunications, finance and
utilities markets.
He co-founded EdgeAlliance - a sales network focusing on outsourced business development and sales management. He was Sales Director Central & East Europe at JacobsRimell Ltd. and MD of Germany & Central Europe at Intec Telecom. Before that he was Country manager for Switzerland Platinum Technology and Sales manager at Texas Instruments Software.
Stefan has a PHD in high Energy Physics and has been awarded fellowships at the Max-Planck Gesellschaft and at CERN.
Kobus Smit
Chief Operations Officer
With over 20 years of experience in the software industry, Kobus Smit brings extensive experience in engineering management to VisionOSS for his role in leading the technical development team.
Kobus leads the software development, engineering, global deployment and support teams at VisionOSS.
Kobus has worked at Director level for Intec PLC. where he was Development Director, responsible for over 300 staff. During his time at Intec, Kobus was responsible for establishing an offshore professional services capacity for Intec in Bangalore, India.
