Incumbent Service Provider
Operators of Managed and Hosted IP Telephony and unified communications services are faced with a major challenge: how to deploy, manage and scale advanced voice services on behalf of multiple customers, across multiple sites and using a mix of dedicated and shared IP telephony IP PBX and soft-switch infrastructure. The challenge becomes greater as IP telephony and UC services are bundled with data and video applications on truly converged networks.

Incumbent Service Provider

Large service providers such as national PTTs often find it challenging to offer profitable services to small and medium enterprises (SMEs)– with the consequent risk of losing business to the competition. Large enterprises, on the other hand, can be managed on a project-by-project basis, where the large service provider’s scope, depth of skills and resources become an asset.

VOSS- provides the capabilities for large service providers to support both large enterprises and SME customers, with profitable managed VoIP services.

To offer profitable services to SMEs, the service provider’s business processes and systems will need to ensure:
  • no more than 1 or 2 “contacts” with each SMB is required to complete the sales process
  • connection of the SMB to the service is automated
  • administration of the SMB is devolved to the SMB administrator, but controlled by the SP.
Vision provides the mechanism for large service providers to minimise the administrative effort of selling, connecting and managing SMB customers.

Challenger Service Providers

Challenger Service Providers capitalise on their ability to bring new products and services to market quicker than traditional PTTs, in order to capture the medium to large enterprise markets. Flexibility and time to market is a competitive advantage for the Challenger Service Provider.

Vision provides Challenger Service Providers with the ability rapidly to create and deliver voice and data bundles that are tailored to both small and large businesses. Speed to market for the delivery of those services to end users is also a key benefit.

Outsource Service Provider

Outsourcing of communications services is a major opportunity for service providers and system integrators. Large businesses choose to outsource data, voice and desk-top services to a third party, so that they can focus on their core business.

In many cases Outsource Service Providers have secured data and desktop outsourcing contracts from customers but have not been able to secure the voice component.

Vision provides Outsource Service Providers with the ability to host and/or manage IP voice and unified communications services as an integrated outsourcing offering to its customers.
